About
Wing Yi Lung is a Staff Research Associate III in Dr. John Belperio’s lab. She has a B.S. degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics from UCLA. Prior to joining the Belperio lab, Wing’s research focused on examining how influenza infections alter immune responses against secondary bacterial infections, using a combination of in vivo and mice models. Currently, Wing’s research is focused on examining T cell subsets and associated chemokines in mouse models of pulmonary fibrosis, COPD, and pulmonary sarcoidosis. Crucial insights into the triggers and underlying cellular and molecular mechanisms driving the disease pathogenesis of these advanced lung diseases will be helpful for developing therapeutic and prognostic strategies.
